The Flavourful Journey of Spicegro

Spicegro’s remarkable journey began from humble beginnings in March 2014, when the company planted its roots in Kimbult Industrial Park, Honeydew.

What started as a small venture focused on supplying spices, herbs and food ingredients to relevant industries quickly evolved. By June 2015, just over a year later, Spicegro experienced such significant growth that it required larger premises within the same complex.

The momentum didn’t stop there. By July 2018, Spicegro celebrated its success with yet another relocation to even larger facilities, marking a significant milestone in its transformation from a tiny seedling into a fully bloomed organisation. This expansion allowed the company to diversify its products and service offerings further.

In response to its rapid expansion and commitment to innovation, Spicegro made another move towards the end of 2020, this time to a larger facility in Northlands Business Park, Northriding, Gauteng. This new location not only housed the head office but also included a warehouse, packaging division and distribution department; providing the necessary infrastructure to support the launch of their signature retail range, FlavourBlast, which features a variety of spices, herbs, seasonings, sauces, marinades and bastings.

“Our clients have come to expect fast and friendly service, reliable products and consistent supply throughout,” explains Leigh Weightman, Spicegro’s Managing Director. “These premises allowed us to meet the ever-increasing and changing demands from our stakeholders, ensuring our interactions with customers remained consistent and quality-based. This was especially important with the introduction of FlavourBlast in 2020.”

Continuing this trajectory of growth, Spicegro relocated its Head Office once again in June 2024 to Malibongwe Industrial Park, accommodating further expansion. This modern, spacious facility features ample office space, a manufacturing site and a warehouse, perfectly suited to support future growth.

Looking ahead, Spicegro is excited to continue evolving in the spice industry and build on its path of success.

The company prides itself on producing quality workmanship and consistency in business, aligned with its promise to offer optimal turnaround times while injecting flavourful quality goods through buying, selling and trading with suppliers, clients and related markets.

“We rely and thrive on doing things the right way every single time. And we will continue to offer superior products, backed by exceptional service, to the food and related industries because we know that delivering on our commitment means offering the same great taste our customers have come to expect and love.”
